Training
Training your dog is not an option, its an obligation. It is not something only to be thought of once problem behaviours arise, it is to prevent problems from starting.

With years of experience in training the 'untrainable' dogs, I believe with a little bit of professional help, every dog has the ability to reach its full potential of a happy, obedient life.
1-2-1 Private Sessions
1-2-1 sessions are hugely popular, as you’ll get to see changes in your dogs behaviour within minutes of meeting Houch.
A 1-2-1 is ideal as we get to see hands on what is going on with your dog. We'll get to discuss your home environment and can suggest small changes that can make a big difference to you and your dog. During the session you will be taught safe and effective techniques to cover each and every problem you may be having, from jumping up on people/furniture, counter surfing, barking at strangers or dogs and any other problem you may be having.
These sessions are structured around giving you the knowledge and techniques to communicate effectively with your dog and teach you how to deal with everyday problems you may be having. You’ll be taught how to get your dog to listen to you even in those distracting environments.
These are intensive sessions and last approximately 2.5 hours.

Residential Dog Training
If you are thinking of getting a dog or you already have a dog and you’re just not sure where to turn to for training, let me take the pressure off.
Here at the Canine Behaviour Centre we offer Residential Training for your dog in block week periods. Lifestyles have changed over the years and we seem to have less and less time to ourselves and when that free time is taken up with constantly trying to correct our dogs it can become frustrating and sometimes dangerous for us and the dogs.

Your dog couldn’t be in better hands and here at the Canine Behaviour Centre we will use all our skills to make sure your dog enjoys every minute of his/her stay here.

Your dog will come and live with me and my dogs in Athy. During your dogs stay your dog’s behaviour will be carefully monitored and moulded to suit your needs.
Check in to our Facebook page each day to see how your dog is progressing. Daily forest, river and bog walks are the norm during the day and training will take place the entire time your dog is here.
Your dog will eat, drink and sleep with my dogs, where he/she will learn invaluable social skills and the importance of impulse control which will lay the foundation for the transition back to the family home. All of your dog’s needs will be catered for with nice warm beds and extra large play garden. We also have access to emergency vet 24hours a day should it be required.

Probably the most important part of the residential training will be at the end of your dogs’ stay, when you pick him/her up. You will have approximately a two hour training session with Houch to go through the training progress of your dog and to give you the training techniques required to transition your dog back into the family home.

• All dogs must be fully vaccinated
• Block Weeks are Monday to Friday
• Cost is *€595 per week (Aggression cases - prices vary)
• You will be allotted a collection time on Friday for your dog. (This is when owner training takes place)
• You must supply us with enough food for your dogs stay
• You must supply us with a well fitting flat collar for your dog
*A €100 deposit is required at time of booking through PayPal or Revolut with the balance due before collection.

Cancellations: Full deposit refund 28 days before training date

We are currently booked out 2-3 months in advance but cancellations are possible, so get in touch as soon as possible to book your dog in.
